Description

Designed by Dordoni Studio for Foscarini, Torche is a wall lamp that reinterprets an ancient gesture: the torch, an archetype of light that is carried and shared. Its soft cone shape, made of painted die-cast aluminium, releases both direct and indirect light, upwards and downwards, with refined, essential elegance.

The white interior enhances light reflection, while the exterior features a coloured, matt and velvety finish. Two separate LED sources shape the lighting. The upper one is more powerful and shielded to direct the beam towards the ceiling. The lower one is softer and creates a more intimate glow. Two satin glass lenses protect the LEDs and diffuse the light. Dimmable (triac) with a double switch-on option, the lamp can be mounted either way up.

Foscarini was founded in 1981 in Venice. Foscarini has been producing lighting and exploring the possibilities and qualities of Murano glass since 1981, most of its design have gone on to become classics. For Foscarini, each project requires a new supplier in order to best meet the customer's requirements. Freedom of production advocated by Foscarini inspired two of the company's designers, Carlo Urbinatti and Alessancro Vecchiato, to use other materials. This strategy results in a wealth of inspirations, raw materials and technological innovations. Foscarini's concepts, shapes and materials illuminate and transform the offerings and initiatives of international designers
